McKinzie is the founder of Moms Make Cents. She started the website in June 2016 as an ultimate resource for moms to help them save money, make money, and take control of their finances.
Since childhood McKinzie has always been passionate about money. She loved counting the quarters in her Tootsie Roll bank. In an effort to save more money she loved having lemonade stands and selling her rare Pokemon cards for top dollar (yep, true story).
Through various online businesses and savvy money saving skills McKinzie and her husband were able to pay off all of her non-mortgage debts (student loans, cars, credit cards, etc.) by the time she was 25.
As a lifelong entrepreneur McKinzie has successfully run many businesses including, freelancing, real estate, direct sales, digital product sales, blogging, consulting and more.
McKinzie has always had a passion for learning. She received a full-tuition academic scholarship and received a bachelor’s in Behavioral Science. Her true love however, was personal finance so she went on to complete a second bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning from the University of Utah in 2015.
As an expert in the personal finance space McKinzie is frequently quoted in major publications such as, Yahoo Finance, Forbes, MSN, Money.com, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, Mic.com, Business News Daily, Go Banking Rates, Creditcards.com, Chime Bank, Freshbooks.com, Authority Hacker, The Work At Home Woman, The Penny Hoarder, and many more.
McKinzie is a mom of two and is married to her sweetheart. When she is not chasing her kiddos or running her businesses you can find her playing guitar or going out for ice cream.
