One thing that I love about Divi is that you don’t need to learn coding or web designing in order to use this WordPress theme. It’s easy to use but it is still dynamic enough for you to create an amazing and beautiful website.

What is Divi?

Divi is a WordPress theme from Elegant Themes that is well known for their visual drag and drop website page builder. It’s a very flexible theme that is easy to use.

Because of this, it is one of the most popular themes. You can use standard options or you can also select their customized options.

What’s great about Divi is that anyone can use it. Even if you don’t possess a sliver of coding or programming skills, you can still use Divi. It’s perfect if you don’t want to spend a lot of time managing your website.

On the other hand, if you know even just a little bit of code and want to have other customized options, Divi is also handy to use. You can choose from 54 layout packs and download different themed pages per pack.

Divi Builder Review

The main tool that you will be using with Divi is the Divi Builder. It’s most essential feature is that you can customize everything on it.

You also don’t need to write any code on it since you’ll be able to use the drag and drop feature. It allows you to create your pages from scratch and also make the most of your designs using A/B testing.

You can edit with Divi Builders using either of the following:

Editing using Front-end

This means you are basically editing the end result or the final product. Whatever your users will see, it is what you are editing. 

Editing using Backend

It’s useful for creating your page layout where you can edit columns and boxes but since you are not seeing the final product, it isn’t ideal for when you are putting the finishing touches.

With Divi Builder, you can design using two concepts:

Columns and Rows

This is where you will put your content. They kind of act like the layout for your content. If you want to create a design, you can add a new row. It can either have only one column or multiple ones.

Modules

Modules are the ones that will display your content. When you insert or add a module, you can easily do so by creating it in the interface. You would just need to fill in the fields for what text, alignment, URL, etc. you want it to be.

Settings in the modules include content, design, and advanced.

Content is your basic content and information, while design allows you to edit colors, text, sizes, add icons, spacing, background, and many more. The advanced option is to let you add custom CSS.

Divi has a lot of modules for you to choose from – pretty much anything you could want to do there is an option for. 

You’ll be able to add things like email optins, search, pricing tables, contact form, gallery, blurbs, audio, video, map, login, and so much more.

Divi Layouts

Once you have created a layout, you have the option of saving it so that you can use it for later or for other purposes. This means if you like a certain layout or a certain part of it, you wouldn’t need to recreate or rebuild it later on.

Once you have saved it, you can easily reuse it. If you have another page that you want to use the layout on, you can just click “Add from library” to add it. If you have a lot of layouts that you would be making, you can also classify them according to categories for easier use later on.

If you don’t like creating your own layouts from scratch, Divi has that taken care of!

You can choose from Elegant Themes’ premade layouts and use them instead. This is great if you want a quick and easy layout or maybe you need some ideas or inspiration. You can just load them from your library and you’re all set.

Some examples of premade layouts include the about me page, contact us, coming soon, landing page, our team, portfolio, blog, and many more. You can also have the options to tweak these layouts and save them for later.

Undo/Redo

This feature allows you to redo or undo your steps in case you make a mistake. You can just click on the appropriate button and start again. This is a useful feature to have so that you don’t have to waste time correcting or fixing certain issues.

Especially if you are still starting out, this feature can be helpful for you and knowing that you have this option is convenient to have.

WordPress Customizer

Divi uses the WordPress Customizer, which can let you customize your website and you can see the results in real time. This will allow you to see the changes instantly and you can see the effects it will have on your site.

You can customize different styles for your theme like change your header style, select button styles, pick your fonts and color schemes, modify widgets, and many more.

You can also customize mobile styles. This means you can edit the font and styles that will appear on mobile devices. This is a great option to have in order to make sure your site is optimized for mobile- and you can all do this through the customizer.

When customizing your headers, you can have different options like the centered, default, full screen, slide in, centered in line logo, or vertical navigation.

You can also customize different modules in the Divi Builder. You’ll be able to decide how you want those modules to look and style them accordingly.

Divi Leads

A/B testing or split testing, allows you to see and compare two versions of your page to see which one is doing better or getting more clicks, for example. This is a great way for you to improve your website. With Divi, you can do this through Divi Leads.

This feature is very helpful for you to test out different versions of your modules and apply those that are working the best for your site.

You can style your page navigation, themes, and layouts with this feature. The sections are:

General

You can upload your logo and favicon in this section. Here you can also set your default color palette, enable a fixed navigation bar, and enable social media links.

Navigation

For navigation, you can customize pages, categories, and general settings, which allows you to determine how these will work and get shown. You can exclude certain pages, show drop-down menus, display home link, and others.

Layout

Here you can have options like enabling or disabling comments on posts. You can also determine the single post or page layouts. You can either hide or show the author, date, categories, and others.

Ads

This is the ad spot where you can enable banners, images, AdSense code, and URL.

SEO

You can find options for setting up meta keywords, meta descriptions, enabling custom titles, etc.

Integration

You can set up the custom code for the headers, body, top, and bottom of the posts.

Updates

This is where you can get the latest updates and the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Divi Role Editor

This feature is beneficial for you if you are letting other people have access to your site. This basically limits other people’s access to menu options and seeing your Divi Builder library, modules, etc. If you are the only one who will be accessing your site, then this wouldn’t be a useful feature for you.

Is the Divi theme SEO friendly?

Some people worry about page builders not ranking well in search engines but this is not true. The Divi theme is definitely SEO friendly and a lot marketers do use it. When it comes to search engine ranking, you can use the Divi Theme and still get a good ranking.

Divi Support

This is a great advantage that Divi has when it comes to their support system. Because it is a popular theme, there is a lot of information out there for you to learn.

There is a dedicated forum with lots of threads that can help you with many various issues that you might encounter. They have a lot of videos and tutorials out there that you can check out and use in case you have any questions or need any help with your design.

You can go to their blog and find a lot of tutorials as well. There are also third-party websites that give out information on Divi and how you can optimize it.

Divi Theme Price

Divi cost is something that you might have been wondering about as you read this post. There are two options/pricing plans for you when it comes to purchasing the Divi Theme.

You can get yearly access for $89. With this, you can get premium support and updates, and access to themes and plugins for one year. If you don’t renew after the first year, you won’t receive updates anymore, however, your site will still work.

You can also get a lifetime plan for a one time payment of $ 249, which provides you updates and support, and unlimited website usage for life. If you are planning on using Divi more than 2 years, it would definitely come out cheaper to get his life plan instead of paying yearly.

When you subscribe to either of these two plans, you can also get all the other Elegant Themes products like Bloom Email Opt-in which is a tool for you to grow your email list. Another product you can get is the Monarch Social Sharing, which is a plugin you can use for your site to optimize social sharing.

With Divi, you can easily create beautiful and professional websites with minimal effort and maximum support.
