Four Months?! That is so crazy to me. I’m definitely still a newbie on the blogging scene, but this blog is starting to feel more and more familiar. I have LOVED getting to know so many wonderful ladies during the course of this journey. It really is my favorite part!

Last month I was super nervous to share my update. I saw massive growth between months two and three and I was concerned that I wasn’t going to be able to top it.

That was true in some areas, but in others, I surprised myself and did even better than last month!

WHY AM I POSTING AN INCOME REPORT?

If it is your first time on my site, you may be wondering why in the world I am sharing the nitty gritty details of my traffic, subscribers, and income on my site. Isn’t that taboo or something?

Income reports are what gave me the courage to finally start this blog.

I do not in any way post these reports to be prideful, it is actually the opposite. I am putting myself out there, successes and failures so you can learn from my experiences.

If you want to get started you can follow my in-depth tutorial on how to start a blog here.

These posts are designed to be a case study for you. In each post, I share what worked that month and what didn’t. I hope that you find these posts encouraging and motivating to you. If you have any questions about this post leave a comment below and I will be sure to reply!

You can check out my previous growth/income reports here.

Now on to this months growth report!

PAGEVIEWS

9/22 – 22,677   10/21 – 21,899

Difference – (778)    Increase – (3.4%)

This month my pageviews took a slight dip. After launching Pinterest to Profits in late September, to say I was burned out would be an understatement. I spent so much time preparing the course, that I truly needed a break.

It was also my hubby’s birthday and birthdays are a big deal over here. We go all out. So there were multiple days where I didn’t do much work so I could plan and enjoy his birthday. We had a great time, but it did take away from work on the blog.

With my launch, I also had a ton of client work that I had to catch up on, plus I started a new campaign for a client. This month (as well as my next month) was very client heavy in regards to my work.

My most popular posts this month were,

How I Make Money On Pinterest Using Affiliate Links 11.9k Pins

Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing: The Secret to Making $50,000 a Month Blogging 1.1k Pins

How I Started 3 Businesses My First Year As A Stay At Home Mom 1.9k Pins

35+ Free Online Course For Bloggers + Online Biz Owners 3k Pins

Again Pinterest topped my referral traffic for the month, followed by Facebook and then miscellaneous traffic sources.

EMAIL SUBSCRIBERS – 868

9/22 – 655    10/21 – 868

Difference – 213   Increase – 32.5%

I gained about 200 subscribers this month. This month I did not focus much on my email list. I did put out a new email opt-in (free Canva media-kit template), but I haven’t done much to promote it yet.

November my goal is to really improve my email marketing techniques. I have been taking Email Lists Simplified by Meera Kothand and it is amazing. Email marketing has seriously terrified me, but the way Meera breaks it down made me feel like this is something I actually could master!

This month I am going to tweak my free Pinterest course and create a welcome series for all of my opt-ins.

Help me stay accountable this month guys!

PINTEREST – 2908

9/22 – 2240     10/21 – 2908

Difference – 668     Increase – 30%

It was another great month for Pinterest growth! I probably spent one hour on Pinterest this entire month.

I am super happy with a 30% increase in followers when I did almost no work. I have a lot of the systems automated using BoardBooster so lately I rarely pin. At a maximum, I am spending 30 minutes a week on there and it is still bringing in over 85% of the traffic to my site.

TWITTER – 756

9/22 – 684    10/21 – 756

Difference – 72   Increase – 10.5%

I’ve found that Twitter is a great way to engage with readers and other readers, but it doesn’t bring much traffic to my site. I respond to tweets I am tagged in and try to retweet some of my friends, but the rest of my tweets are looped with IFTTT.

FACEBOOK – 88

9/22 – 57    10/21 – 88

Difference – 31     Increase – 54%

Remember how last month I said I was hoping to create my own Facebook group? Well a tender mercy happened and inherited and awesome Facebook group.

We have tons of fun things planned for the group, like live Q&A’s, featured guest experts + a whole lot of love and support. You don’t want to miss it!

Want to come hang with me on Facebook? Join the group here!

INSTAGRAM – 100

9/22 – 79    10/21 – 100

Difference – 21     Increase – 27%

You guys I am so bad! My goal was to post once a week on Instagram. I think I posted once the whole month. That is so embarrassing. I NEED to do better. I really love IG, but I just haven’t used it much with this blog.

What would you like to see from me on Instagram?

WHAT WORKED?

I launched Pinterest to Profits! I have been working on this course for months. Pinterest has been a huge part of my growth strategy on this blog (as well as for other businesses I have managed) and I wanted to share all of my tricks with YOU!

My students started in the course and their results have been insane! I am seriously so proud!

One student’s Pinterest impressions increased by over 1600% in the first month and another student’s average daily viewers increased by 750% within two weeks of starting the course.

I feel like a proud mama!

After writing what felt like a million words for Pinterest to Profits, I really didn’t feel like writing for a few weeks. I was so relieved that I scheduled a couple guest posts this month.

I think with every launch in the future I am going to try to schedule at least two guest posts. They literally saved my sanity!

WHAT DIDN’T WORK?

This month I took on a bit more than I could handle. I am a work at home mama so most of my work gets done late at night after my hubby and little guy get to bed.

With launching my new course Pinterest to Profits and some unforeseen projects that were added by a few of my clients I was overwhelmed.

Fortunately, I was able to be organized and get everything done without missing any deadlines, but there were a few days that I was stressed with a capital S.

TOTAL # OF POSTS

Since starting this blog my goal has been to post once a week. This month I wrote four posts and had one guest post.

INCOME REPORT

SO WHERE DID MY INCOME COME FROM THIS MONTH?

1. This month I finished up the pre-sale and launched my new course Pinterest to Profits. It has been so exciting to see these wonderful ladies join the course. They have shared with me their blogs/businesses, questions and goals. It has been so rewarding to see their growth even in this first month.

I was not aggressive at all with this launch. I put up a blog post and sent out a few emails, that was it. Next launch I will be a bit more strategic do a few webinars, and improve my email sequence.

2. The other portion of my income this month came from affiliate marketing. A lot of the strategies I have implemented have been from the course I took Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.

If you do not have your own product I would highly recommend finding a few affiliate products that you love. You can do a google search for a specific brand or product you want to become an affiliate for or check out an affiliate network where you can apply to many brands.

The first three affiliate networks I recommend checking out are,

ShareASale

CJ Affiliate (Formerly Commission Junction)

Amazon Affiliate

INCOME:

Pinterest to Profits Sales: $1,121.52 (after Teachable’s fees and the payment processor fee)

Affiliate Marketing: $1,004.96

Total Income: $2126.48

Additional Store Credits

BoardBooster: $15 Credit

Expenses:

Mailchimp: $8.56 (Usually $15 a portion was covered by referral credits.)

Teachable: $0

This month I upgraded to the basic plan on Teachable which is $39. This reduces the percentage that Teachable takes of the sales and allows me to have affiliates for my course. Teachable offers a free month trial for any of their paid plans (there is also a free plan, they will just take a larger commission on your sale).

Courses + E-books: $157.2

I’m hoping in the near future I can dedicate more time to growing my Facebook page. This month I bought the e-book “Strategies Worth Sharing.” In the book, Brittany teaches her strategies for growing her Facebook page from 2,000 fans to 100,000 in only five months! I’ve read through about half of the book so far and it is so helpful!

Promoted Pins: $4.30

I had a few students in Pinterest to Profits ask me about Promoted Pins aka Pinterest Ads. I have run ads in the past, but I wanted to try a new strategy. During this test I was able to get my Cost Per Click (CPC) down to $.10 a click and my eCPC to $.08!

Total Expenses: $170.06

Net Income: $1,956.42

This month has been incredibly exciting. It is amazing to me that between blogging and my freelance clients I am making almost as much as I made at my full-time job before I had my son. Not every month will be as strong as this one, but I am so thankful for the absolute blessing this has been in my family’s life.
